ePLA-Silk
eSun's ePLA-Silk filament is the updated eSilk PLA filament. This is a PLA filament, but with a beautiful satin finish. It prints just as easily as regular PLA filament. The satin finish also makes the print lines less visible. Esun ePLA-Silk filament is available in many colours that the regular PLA+ filament from eSun is also available in, as well as a few unique colours that are only produced in eSilk filament.
PLA
PLA, also known as polylactic acid (Polylactide), is one of the most commonly used filaments for 3D printing. PLA is made from renewable resources such as tapioca flour, sugar cane, or corn starch. This makes PLA significantly more environmentally friendly than, for example, ABS or HIPS. PLA also has the pleasant properties of not emitting odours during 3D printing, not warping much when cooling, and melting at relatively low temperatures. This makes PLA one of the easiest materials to 3D print with.
PLA filament is available in many different colours, but PLA also mixes well with wood fibres, metal particles, and chalk. This allows for even more beautiful and interesting filaments to be created for 3D printing.
